Seventh-day Adventist Schools (North New South Wales) is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and passionate Workshop Assistant to join our Avondale School Campus Team. This is a part-time position (15 hours a week) during school term time only.

Avondale School is a Preschool to Year 12 independent School, owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The school is located on an expansive rural campus in Cooranbong NSW, in the Lake Macquarie area. With a history of providing quality Christian education for over 120 years, our mission continues to focus on providing opportunities for students to know Christ, develop their full potential and cultivate a love of learning. • Experience working in a workshop, trade, manufacturing or maintenance environment.
• Familiarity with woodworking, metalworking or general workshop tools.
• Current First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
• Hold current a current WWCC clearance and a First Aid certificate. We are a child-safe organisation committed to protecting children's rights to safety, respect, inclusion, and empowerment. • Legally able to work in Australia. Please not this position is not linked to a sponsorship visa. Those who cannot provide evidence to be legally able to work in Australia will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons.
• Assist with setting up and packing away classroom activities.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
• Organise tools, consumables and storage areas.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and inventory of materials.
• Prepare timber, metals and other materials for student projects.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Support teachers with workshop organisation.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Help create an efficient and welcoming learning environment for students and staff.
