EDUCATION DIRECTOR – UNION MISSION (TPUM)
The Trans Pacific Union Mission is seeking a passionate, visionary, and mission-focused leader to serve as our next Education Director.
The focus of the Trans Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) of the Seventh‑day Adventist Church is the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the spiritual nurture of its constituents and the professional management of the church, its organisation and facilities.

To develop Adventist educational communities of faith that promote holistic student development expressed in physical and emotional well-being, Christ-centered worship, academic excellence, caring relationships, and practical concern for others.
Your Role:
- Assist the South Pacific Division Education Director in his evaluation of the union college, academies and secondary schools located within the union.
- In counsel with the Division Education director, plan for the organisation and conduct of all teachers’ institutes within the union.
- Be responsible for the Probationary Teacher Induction and Evaluation Program and arrange with local mission education directors for regular visits to probationary teachers.
- Regularly visit and evaluate all schools within the union.
- In counsel with local mission officers, prepare a list of staffing needs for all schools to be considered by the Central Staffing Committee.
- Arrange for resources to be available to teachers either on loan or on a purchase basis.
- Represent the interests of Adventist education at camp meetings and other general church gatherings.
- Preach at missions and local churches as appointed.
- Obtain opening and mid-year statistical reports from each school.
- Advise responsible committees and boards.
- Assist local mission education directors as required.
- Interview upon request, prospective education graduates prior to the appointment of graduates to denominational service.
- Serve as an advisor to the president and executive committee on matters relating to the education department.
- Maintain a file of personnel suitable for departmental leadership.
- Demonstrate and foster skills in the application of technology to student learning and school management.
- Model collaborative and effective leadership.
Essential Criteria
Essential criteria:
- Must be a practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission. This would incorporate an active relationship with Jesus Christ characterised by a deep desire for worship and service to God.
