Trainer and Assessor (Individual Support)

    Bring your current industry experience and knowledge in Ageing and/or Disability and join our team where you will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their best outcomes.

    Your positive attitude and support of our mission and ethos will provide students with the ‘Avondale Experience’.

    Part-time (24 hrs per week) or casual opportunity, 12 month contract.

     

    Key duties & responsibilities could include:

    • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions for CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support.
    • Assess students’ competencies through practical and theoretical evaluations.
    • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their learning goals.
    • Conduct first aid training as part of the curriculum.
    • Stay updated with industry standards and best practices to ensure the highest quality of training.
    • Collaborate with the instructional design to develop and improve course materials.
    • Maintain and build industry relationships and partnerships

     

    Key selection criteria:

    • Supportive of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Avondale University with a strong commitment to its mission, values, and ethos
    • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions for CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support.
    • Assess students’ competencies through practical and theoretical evaluations.
    • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their learning goals.
    • Conduct first aid training as part of the curriculum.
    • Stay updated with industry standards and best practices to ensure the highest quality of training.
    • Collaborate with the instructional design to develop and improve course materials.
    • Maintain and build industry relationships and partnerships
    • Demonstrated communication skills and a friendly/charismatic disposition/team player
    • Demonstrated capability of utilising computer based and online programs
    • Experience drafting TAS documents for accredited training and assessing delivery
    • Cooperate with all work health & safety policies and procedures related to the work being undertaken and ensure that their actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others or organisation
    • Understand and support equal opportunity principles
    • Current drivers license
    • Current Police Check and paid Working with Children Check

     

    Key desirable criteria:

    • Experience delivering school-based VET courses
    • Knowledge of smart and skilled reporting requirements
    • First Aid trainer and assessor experience
    • Demonstrate basic understanding and knowledge of the regulatory agencies in VET
