Avondale University is seeking a Student Recruitment and Onboarding Officer to join the Student Recruitment and Onboarding team on a full-time continuing basis.

This exciting role will have you at the front lines of the Avondale student journey, from initial enquiry to admission right through to graduation. You will be responsible for providing courteous, efficient and professional customer service to staff, students and other relevant stakeholders.

 

What will you do?

Some of the main duties will include:

  • Respond to complex and diverse enquiries from prospective students, domestic and international, and stakeholders about Avondale courses, pathways and entry requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of various student recruitment strategies and activities.
  • Contribute to the achievement of agreed enrolment targets, including targets for specific cohorts such as equity groups.
  • Contribute to the building and sustaining of positive ongoing relationships with stakeholders that enhance the delivery of service.
  • Build and sustain relationships with prospective students in order to maximise the enrolment yield.
  • Process applications from domestic and international applications in a timely and highly accurate manner ensuring application data is accurately recorded within University systems and PRISMS.
  • Assess and verify documentation provided in support of international student applications to ensure admissibility of applicants to appropriate courses in accordance with admissions policy and student visa requirements.
  • Assist prospective students with applications and enrolments, especially equity group students, with applications and enrolments.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork within the team and across Avondale, with the purpose of maintaining a supportive work environment.
  • Some flexibility required to assist with after-hours events such as Open Day, information sessions, and orientation. Time in lieu is accrued in return. 

 

About you

To be successful in the Student Recruitment and Onboarding Officer role, you will be a dynamic and responsive team player committed to positively impacting students and the wider Avondale community. You will thrive under pressure and possess a can-do attitude.

 

Essential criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience and competency.
  • Understanding of basic sales methodology and techniques.
  • High level customer service orientation, including understanding customer needs and exceeding expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet set deadlines.
  • Attention to detail in a high-volume outcome-based service environment.
  • Proficiency in a range of software packages including Outlook, Word, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Valid working with children’s check card (or ability to obtain).
  • Demonstrated ability to cooperate with work health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring actions or omissions do not impact the health and safety of others.
  • Support the mission, values, and ethos of Avondale.

 

Desirable criteria

  • Broad knowledge of education systems, university admissions requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Experience working with tertiary admission centres (such as NSW’s UAC) is highly desirable.

Salary: Avondale Higher Education Worker Level 5 $74,399 - $83,256 per annum, plus superannuation.
