    The role of the Senior Case Officer for Survivor Services is to provide case management services for survivors of abuse. This involves facilitating referrals to external counselling for survivors and their family members, providing information about legal or restorative justice pathways to survivors and their families, being the point of contact for a survivor throughout investigations or other legal processes, and being Adsafe’s point of contact for survivors of abuse.

    Great opportunity available to join Adsafe Ltd in its provision of protective services for children and vulnerable adults across denominational entities within the Seventh-day Adventist Church - South Pacific Division (SPD). This is a part-time position (28 hours per week with the potential for full-time for candidate with appropriate experience) located in New Zealand or at Wahroonga NSW with the flexibility to work remotely as per SPD Working from Home Policy.  Apply today or contact Adsafe for more information.

    Essential Criteria

    1. Supportive of the values, beliefs and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
    2. Relevant tertiary qualification such as social work, social sciences. psychology, or equivalent. 
    3. Knowledge and experience in working with victims of sexual and physical abuse
    4. Strong understanding of case management principles, trauma and its impact on survivors, and demonstrated experience in trauma-informed case management. 
    5. Demonstrated experience in: child protection; trauma-informed case management; and the understanding of the impact of trauma on survivors of abuse. 
    6. High level interpersonal and written communication skills, including ability to influence, negotiate and relate to people at various levels within the Seventh-day Adventist Church and other external organisations.
    7. High level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information. 
    8. Proven communications skills and ability to supervise and mentor junior case officers
    9. Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure. 
    10. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as to work co-operatively within a team environment. 
    11. Ability to think strategically and contribute to strategy development.
    12. Provide leadership in the delivery of clinical services including conducting psychosocial assessments of clients and facilitating referrals to counselling and support services
    13. Demonstrated ability to manage varying and/or conflicting stakeholder demands.
    14. Hold a current driver’s licence.
    15. Capacity to travel within Australia or New Zealand as required.
    16. Computer literacy particularly with Microsoft office suite. 
    17. Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History check.

     

    Desirable Criteria

    1. A working knowledge and understanding of the Seventh-day Adventist church and its management throughout the SPD.
    2. Previous experience in a faith-based organisation highly regarded.
    3. Experience in delivering training.
    4. Experience in policy development.
    5. Experience in assessing risk, identifying strategies to manage risk and investigative processes.
