 Seventh-day Adventist Schools (NNSW) Limited is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary STEM / Digital Technology Teacher to join our team at Macquarie College. This is a maximum term position full-time position, commencing at the beginning of Term 3, 2026.

 

Macquarie College (MC) is a Preschool to Year 12 independent School, owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The school campus is located on the boarder of Wallsend and Elermore Vale, in the Newcastle area. With a history of providing quality Christian education for over 120 years, Macquarie College’s mission is grounded in Seventh-day Adventist Church’s mission and continues to see the College strive to provide opportunities for students to know Christ, develop their full potential and cultivate a love of learning.

 

The successful applicant will:

  • model and nurture an active relationship with Jesus and have a knowledge of and a commitment to supporting the ethos and mission of Macquarie College
  • Have an understanding and commitment to the purpose and ethos of Adventist Education and the Church as described by Adventist Schools Australia and our statements of belief Statements of Belief
  • Confidently teach and meet outcomes in the new Science and Technology curriculum, delivering engaging and high-quality learning experiences.
  • Design and implement inquiry-based units of work in collaboration with colleagues, integrating opportunities for critical thinking and creativity.
  • Deliver hands-on, differentiated, and engaging lessons in Digital Technologies, STEM and computer studies.
  • Show a willingness and capacity to teach students across stage 4 to stage 6, adapting lessons to suit varying stages of development and learning needs.
  • Build nurturing relationships with students and support their social-emotional development.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, ensuring that all students are supported and challenged appropriately.
  • Bring a student-focused outlook and use creativity to inspire curiosity-driven and real-world approaches to learning.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the wider school community.
  • Be an innovative educator with a growth mindset and a passion for integrating technology into teaching and learning.
  • Willingly contribute to the planning and organisation of key events and extracurricular activities.
  • Hold formal teaching qualifications and maintain current NESA registration.

Salary Range
