ROLE PURPOSE
We are seeking an experienced and organised Regional Manager to lead and oversee ADRA’s operations across New South Wales. This role offers the opportunity to use strong leadership and people skills to guide the development, delivery, and monitoring of community projects. The Regional Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with local churches, volunteers, and key stakeholders, providing direction and support to equip them in serving their communities with impact.
Working collaboratively with partnering Conference(s) and the ADRA Australia National Programs team, the Regional Manager ensures that regional initiatives are aligned with national strategies and standards. This position requires a balance of strategic planning, operational management, and relational engagement to strengthen ADRA’s presence in NSW and enhance its contribution to community transformation.
Key Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage ADRA community programs and projects across NSW, ensuring successful delivery and impact.
- Identify community needs and develop new projects in partnership with churches, communities, and stakeholders.
- Secure funding and grants through councils, foundations, government programs, and other funding sources.
- Oversee projects budgets, compliance, reporting, and risk management to ensure accountability and funding requirements are met.
- Supervise and support project managers, providing leadership, guidance, and performance support.
- Recruit, develop, and support volunteers, fostering engagement, retention, and capacity building.
- Strengthen partnerships with local churches, inspiring participation in ADRA programs, volunteering, and fundraising initiatives.
- Represent ADRA through presentations, training, and church engagement activities, promoting ADRA's mission and community impact.
- Collaborate with National Programs, Conference teams, and internal stakeholders to align regional activities with strategic priorities.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities, including training, coordination, and activation during emergency events.
Essential Criteria
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Commitment to the purpose of ADRA, and to the achievement of our overall strategy and priorities with demonstration of our ADRA values and desired team culture lived out in all aspects of work practice.
- Willingness to work within a Christian ethos with conduct that is respectful of the beliefs and practices of the Seventh-day Adventist Church when in the workplace or otherwise representing ADRA Australia.
- A related diploma/degree with at least four years plus experience in project management, people management and/or related experience in the Not-for-Profit Sector and/or Adventist Church System.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to both professional staff and volunteers of various backgrounds and ages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to simultaneously provide guidance and support to various teams/projects at any given time.
- Confidence in data management using various software programs.
- Ability to handle data accurately and with confidentiality.
- Adaptability: flexibility to handle a dynamic work environment and changing priorities.
- Proven and demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work with churches to inspire, identify, support, organise and facilitate programs/projects in response to the needs of the community.
- Proven ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures that are fit-for-purpose and compliant with overarching protocols.
- Ability to travel within the state – no more than 100 days of travel per year.
Desirable Criteria
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience delivering training, presentations, workshops, or public speaking engagements.
- Knowledge of project monitoring, evaluation, and impact reporting frameworks.
