Seventh-day Adventist Schools (North New South Wales) is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and passionate Kindergarten Teacher to join our Avondale School Campus Team. This is a full-time position, Commencing Term 1, 2027.
Avondale School is a Preschool to Year 12 independent School, owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The school is located on an expansive rural campus in Cooranbong NSW, in the Lake Macquarie area. With a history of providing quality Christian education for over 120 years, our mission continues to focus on providing opportunities for students to know Christ, develop their full potential and cultivate a love of learning. We seek to use our extensive resources and skilled staff team to deliver innovative learning and wellbeing opportunities that engage students and develop curiosity. We aspire to change the world one graduate at a time, through the development of character, critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration and citizenship.
The successful applicant will:
- Model and nurture an active relationship with Jesus and have a knowledge of, and commitment to, supporting the ethos and mission of Avondale School.
- An understanding and commitment to the purpose and ethos of Adventist Education and the Church as described by Adventist Schools Australia and our statements of belief Statements of Belief
- Demonstrate the ability to inspire all learners to achieve their potential through engaging, differentiated teaching that supports individual growth and success.
- Have experience with InitiaLit, or a willingness to undertake professional learning in the program.
- Possess a sound understanding of child development and contemporary early years pedagogy.
- Demonstrate the ability to build nurturing relationships that foster a strong sense of belonging, support students' social and emotional development, and adapt teaching practices to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
- Show a willingness to embrace and integrate play-based learning to create engaging, purposeful and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Have a student-centred approach, demonstrating respect for the unique strengths, needs and backgrounds of every child while creatively engaging students with diverse learning needs.
- Demonstrate Integrity through professionalism, reliability and positive relationships.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, parents and the wider school community.
- Be an innovative educator with a strong growth mindset, demonstrating a passion for continuous learning, reflective practice and ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrate a servant-hearted approach through a willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school, collaboratively planning and supporting year-level events and initiatives in a spirit of service.
- Hold formal teaching qualifications and NESA Accreditation.
