Adventist Senior Living (ASL) is seeking a Hospitality Services Manager to join the Avondale Care team on a permanent full-time basis. 

The Hospitality Services Manager oversees catering, cleaning and laundry services as well as a small on-site café to residents to support their physical wellbeing and living environment.

Adventist Senior Living is a ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (Northern NSW conference) seeking to enhance the physical, spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing of older Australians through Christ centred care. The Avondale Care division includes two residential aged care facilities (combined 163 beds).

The Hospitality Services Department is a team of dedicated workers that provide nutritious, tasty and timely meals, quality cleaning & laundry services and café services to residents in Avondale House, Alton Lodge and the Avondale Lifestyle Community. 

A key member of the Avondale Care leadership team, the role works closely with the General Manager Avondale Care, senior managers and the residents to manage the prioritisation, resourcing and delivery of hospitality services.

As a Not For Profit organisation we are able to offer salary sacrificing and also discounted school fees.

The salary range for this role is $98,000 - $108,000 based on skills and experience.

SELECTION CRITERIA 

  • Trade qualifications in a commercial cookery trade
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalent supervisory qualifications/experience
  • Food Safety Certificates 
  • Demonstrated experience in menu planning, costing, purchasing and HACCP application
  • Demonstrated experience in food safety audits
  • Demonstrated experience in a team leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in applying continuous improvement processes to all aspects of hospitality services.
  • Knowledge of risk management (including safe use of chemicals) in hospitality services environments
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in:
    • Leading and supervising
    • Planning and organising
    • Deciding and initiating action
    • Delivering results and meeting customer expectations
    • Coping with pressure
  • Current driver’s license
  • Willingness to obtain an NDIS Worker Certification
  • Demonstrated commitment to a positive organisational culture and ASL’s signature behaviours of commitment, future, mission, respect and honesty
