Role Description

Seventh-day Adventist Schools is seeking an inspiring and dedicated Primary Teacher to join the team at Macarthur Adventist College in the role of Director of Teaching and Learning, commencing in Term 1, 2027. This is a full-time position comprising a 50% teaching load and 50% Director of Teaching appointment. The successful applicant will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a passion for teaching and learning, demonstrating excellence in explicit instruction and modelling high-quality teaching practices that improve student outcomes across the Primary School.

Working collaboratively with staff, the Director of Teaching will lead teaching and learning initiatives, provide instructional coaching, demonstrate effective classroom practice, and engage in professional conversations that support growth, accountability, and continuous improvement. Leadership experience is desirable; however, experienced teachers with a strong track record of classroom excellence and a desire to influence teaching practice beyond their own classroom are encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time teaching and leadership position commencing in Term 1, 2027.

Application Requirements

The successful applicant will hold a formal teaching qualification (degree level), a current Working with Children Check in NSW and be currently registered with NESA to teach in NSW – or be eligible to register with NESA. Demonstrate capacity to guide, illustrate and demonstrate the college’s teaching framework. It is preferable that the successful applicant be a baptised and practising member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, or a practising Christian sympathetic to the unique Seventh-day Adventist identity of the school.
