Role Description
Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Greater Sydney) Ltd is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented People and Culture Assistant to join our Head Office team in Wahroonga. This full-time role (36.25 hours per week) provides vital administrative and operational support to the People and Culture team, ensuring HR processes run smoothly and effectively across our school system. This is an initial 12-month contract, with a 6-month review and annual appraisals thereafter.
You will be part of a dedicated team committed to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, supporting staff and schools in delivering a Christ-centred learning community.
Location
Greater Sydney Conference - Wahroonga, NSW
Key Responsibilities
- responding to general enquiries and providing exceptional customer service;
- drafting and issuing contracts and offer letters;
- coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes, including compliance checks;
- assisting with email and calendar management;
- supporting payroll review processes;
- maintaining accurate employee records in ERP systems and Personnel Service Records;
- reviewing and updating policies and procedures;
- assisting with HR initiatives and projects;
- assisting the Return-to-Work Coordinator with Workers Compensation processes; and
- providing administrative support to the People and Culture team as required.
What We’re Looking For
- strong communication, administration and interpersonal skills;
- excellent organisational and time management abilities;
- attention to detail and commitment to accuracy;
- ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion;
- proactive approach with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
- competence in computer systems, ideally with HRIS experience;
- understanding of HR processes and policies; and
- administrative qualifications and/or experience in HR, recruitment or administration will be highly regarded.
