Business Manager – Sonoma Adventist College

Sonoma Adventist College are seeking applicants for a Business Manager position based in Sonoma, PNG.

The Business Manager serves as the chief business and financial officer of the institution and will be responsible for the financial management of the institution. Applicants who are active Seventh-day Adventists, mission oriented, professional and hard-working are encouraged to apply.

About Sonoma Adventist College:

Sonoma Adventist College is a co-educational tertiary institution located 20 kilometres from the town of Kokopo on Papua New Guinea’s island province of East New Britain.  The College offers awards in Theology, Education – Primary, Business Studies, Agriculture and Building.  The focus of this institution as a Christian College is the holistic education of its students for the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a spirit of dedicated service to the church and the wider community.

 Specific Responsibilities:

• Advise the Principal on the financial operations of the institution.
• Serve as Office Manager.
• Be responsible for accounting, budgeting, purchasing, food services, maintenance and upgrading of the physical plant, non-academic personnel and the various industries operated by the college.
• Be responsible for coordinating all the divisions and departments of the institution and relate them to the spiritual and educational programs which they are designed to serve.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years experience in financial management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• A sounds working knowledge of the church and its management.
• Must be a practicing baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission
