Seventh-day Adventist Schools (NNSW) Limited is seeking an experienced Business Manager for a permanent, full-time role supporting three Mid North Coast schools. Lead financial operations, support school planning and contribute to Adventist education, with remote work available and travel to schools as required.

We are seeking a Business Manager who combines strong financial expertise with a commitment to Adventist education and the communities our schools serve.

Supporting Kempsey Adventist School, Port Macquarie Adventist School and Manning Adventist Bush School, you will play an integral role in school leadership, helping each school build a sustainable future and provide quality Christian education.

Reporting to the General Manager – Corporate Services and working in partnership with each Principal, you will lead the Mid North Coast Finance Team and oversee financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and compliance.

Your responsibilities will also include strengthening internal controls, overseeing fee collection and debt management, supporting funding applications and audits, and contributing to property planning and capital projects.

You will provide practical financial advice to school leaders, mentor finance staff and build constructive relationships with families, colleagues and Corporate Office.

The role allows remote work, with visits to each school as required in consultation with the Principals.

 

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Understanding of and commitment to the purpose and ethos of Adventist Education and the Church’s Statements of Belief.
  • Degree-level accounting qualifications, full membership of a professional accounting body such as CPA or CA, and at least five years’ post-qualification accounting and finance experience.
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls and compliance.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, particularly across multiple sites.
  • Sound analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office, including at least intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and support effective school planning.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
