Seventh-day Adventist Schools (North New South Wales) is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and passionate Teacher Aide to join our Avondale School Campus Team. This is a full-time position, term time only, Commencing Term 1, 2027

Avondale School is a Preschool to Year 12 independent School, owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The school is located on an expansive rural campus in Cooranbong NSW, in the Lake Macquarie area. The successful applicant will:

• Model and nurture an active relationship with Jesus and have a knowledge of, and commitment to, supporting the ethos and mission of Avondale School.
• An understanding and commitment to the purpose and ethos of Adventist Education and the Church as described by Adventist Schools Australia and our statements of belief Statements of Belief
• Assist students with school routines and classroom activities under the supervision of a teacher.
• Assist the classroom teacher in the teaching and learning environment, including implementation of individual educational programs and transition programs.
• Implement the Individual Learning Plans, health care plans or behaviour plans of students with disability or behaviour disorders to support their engagement in learning activities under the supervision of a teacher.
• Ensure a safe environment when working with students.
• Supervision of a group of students without a teacher present
• Assist student learning, where some discretion and judgment is involved, including evaluation and assessment, under the supervision of a teacher
• Assist teacher in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of appropriate programs for individual students or groups of students
• Observe and record individual student performance.
• Assist with toileting and personal care needs of students as necessary.
• Assist students with food preparation, eating and drinking as necessary.
• Operate classroom equipment such as computers, iPads, whiteboards
• Arrange classroom furniture/equipment where required
• Assemble and distribute learning materials and resources
• Ensure confidentiality of all student information.
• Undertake other related duties as determined by the Inclusive Education Coordinator, Head of Primary or Classroom Teacher.
