Brief description of role

Are you looking to work in a team environment that focuses on the finance ministry of the North NSW Church?

Join us as the Accountant to a great bunch of accounting minded people. As part of a small to medium sized team, you’ll prepare and analyse data, provide information, complete documentation to a high standard and within timeframes, and support innovative best practice accounting principles.

Here's some of what you’ll get up to:
  • Prepare the consolidated budget & forecasts for the Conference.
  • Process and maintain asset register and monthly depreciation, BAS quarterly and annual FBT return.
  • Participate in the annual Local Church Audit.
  • Provide insights, analysis and recommendations to Senior Accountant on current and future Conference financial strategy.
You’ll be perfect for this role if you have these 5 things
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to maintain professional relationships with the local Church finance and administration teams.
  • High level of computer literacy with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Accounts
  • CPA or CA Accreditation with a sound understanding of accounting principles and practice and be able to provide advice and support to the other financial personnel.
  • Be familiar with the accounting processes associated with the preparation and presentation of monthly and annual financial reports and ensure that these processes are being adhered to by the finance personnel.
  • Have an understanding of, commitment to, and support the values, ethos and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
