Maintenance Worker/Handyman

Key Responsibilities

In this diverse role, your responsibilities will include:

As a  Handyman:

  • Conducting building and equipment maintenance under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Monitoring completed work and addressing any arising issues.
  • Performing scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Proactively ensuring high standards to prevent damage or hazards through early intervention.

As a Ground:

  • General garden upkeep, including lawn mowing, edging, and weeding.
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and blowing paths, drives, and gutters as needed.
  • Water blasting paths to maintain safety and cleanliness.
  • Managing rubbish bins, including cleaning and preparing them for collection.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is:

For Handyman Tasks:

  • Experienced in a similar role, with knowledge of general maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Skilled in communication and capable of working with all levels of employees and residents.
  • Physically fit, with a valid NSW driver’s license (manual preferred).
  • Empathetic and approachable, with a willingness to help the elderly.
  • Familiar with WHS rules, policies, and procedures.

For Ground Tasks:

  • Experienced in a similar role, with knowledge of gardens maintenance.
  • Passionate about plants and gardens, with a good eye for detail.
  • Knowledgeable in plant cultivation and safe gardening practices, including the use of chemicals.
  • Skilled in using mowers and other ground maintenance equipment.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
