    Located in leafy Wahroonga, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

    The South Pacific Division (SPD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is looking for an experienced, dedicated, and efficient Administrative Assistant to support the work of its Corporate Services. You will be self-motivated, well organised, conscientious with good computer literacy and great people skills.

    Reporting directly to the Corporate Services Secretary and indirectly to the Assistant Corporate Services Secretary, this role will be responsible for direct client liaison and support, including document management, organising meetings and events, filing, championing compliance software solution and providing general guidance to departmental queries.

    Full-time or part-time hours of 32 hours per week (Monday – Thursday) will be considered.

    The South Pacific Division is the administrative head office for Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and most of the South pacific island nations. Corporate Services provides advice to church field offices in the South Pacific on country specific regulatory and legal obligations; cares for certain real and intellectual property transactions for legal entities of the church; and liaises and reports to the government charity regulators. Corporate Services also provides internal legal counsel and auditing services. It is a small close-knit team that function well together, supporting and providing expertise to the wider church.

    Selection Criteria:

    Essential

    • Strong commitment to the teachings, values, beliefs and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and eligibility to hold the appropriate church licence/credential.
    • Appropriate Secretarial/ Office Administration qualifications.
    • Previous experience in office administration or similar.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritise with excellent time management skills.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to work in a team as well as unsupervised.
    • Demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated.
    • Highly organised with great attention to detail and precision.
    • Basic  working knowledge of the church and its broad structure across the SPD.

    Preferred

    • Some competency and a working knowledge of commercial transaction law and not-for-profit legal regulatory requirements (Corporate Services).
    • Some exposure and familiarity working with formal documentation and contractual law.

    Other

    • Must show evidence of current Australian work rights.
