The Greater Sydney Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is seeking a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to provide executive support to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a unique parental leave cover opportunity that combines traditional executive assistance responsibilities with involvement in several significant organisational projects, including our Epping office relocation project.

The Greater Sydney Conference (GSC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is the administrative and spiritual hub for church activities in the Greater Sydney region. We focus on supporting a Christ-centred community and growing both spiritually and professionally.
About the Opportunity
- Initial commitment of 4-5 days per week for approximately the first 7 months.
- Hours expected to transition to approximately 2-3 days per week for the remainder of the parental leave period.
- Opportunity to contribute to high-profile organisational projects and change initiatives.
- Based at our Wahroonga Head Office and our new Epping building once the build is complete.
Position Summary:
The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and organisational support to the Conference Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The role enables the effective operation of the CFO’s office through diary and inbox coordination, preparation of documents and correspondence, support for governance and financial administration, stakeholder liaison, and assistance with conference-wide initiatives. The position requires sound judgement, initiative, discretion, attention to detail, and a commitment to the mission and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative support to the CFO.
- Manage calendars, meetings, correspondence and inbox coordination.
- Prepare reports, presentations, minutes and business communications.
- Support governance, financial administration and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Coordinate travel, accommodation and event logistics.
- Assist with Conference-owned vehicle administration and corporate accounts.
- Support treasury training programs, conventions and Big Camp.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of the Epping office relocation project, including staff engagement, move logistics and workplace readiness.
Essential Criteria
- Practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission and values.
- Experience in executive support, administration, office coordination or a similar role.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
- Positive, adaptable and collaborative approach to work.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be a practicing baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission. This would incorporate an active relationship with Jesus Christ characterised by a deep desire for worship and service to God.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in executive support, business administration, office coordination, or a comparable administrative role is desirable.
- It is desirable, but not necessary, that the applicant has relevant qualifications, by way of Certificates and/or Diploma of Business Management and/or Administration.
