The South Australian Conference Office is seeking a capable and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk, commencing in early to mid-August 2026.

The South Australian Conference Office is the administrative headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in South Australia. Our office exists to support churches and schools in their mission by providing essential administrative and financial services. This role contributes directly to that mission by assisting with the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing quality support to employees and the payroll team. Strong Excel skills and experience with payroll software are highly desirable.

This is a part-time position (32 hours per week), plus any reasonable additional hours as may occasionally be required. The role is offered as a one-year contract, with the possibility of permanency depending on organisational needs and performance.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel and payroll software (MicrOpay experience is desirable).
2. Basic working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and payroll-related legislation (desirable).
3. Demonstrated experience and personal qualities relevant to the Position Description.
4. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and organisational skills.
5. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
6. Qualifications and/or work experience in payroll, finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field (desirable).
7. Be a practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission (desirable).
8. Hold a valid South Australian Working with Children Check (WWCC).
9. Hold a current South Australian Driver's Licence (desirable).
10. Hold unrestricted legal rights to work in Australia..
