Mechanical Fitter – Night Shift

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Fitter to join our Maintenance Reliability team on the night shift. 10.30pm to 6.30am, Monday to Thursday.
If have a background in food manufacturing or want to learn about food manufacturing, then this role may be right for you. We are looking for qualified mechanical fitters with right culture fit, a bright attitude, and the willingness to learn within a team environment.
The successful applicant will demonstrate proven knowledge, skills, attention to detail and be an effective communicator in a team environment.
The successful applicant will:
- Have relevant qualification in: Fitter Trade Certificate (or equivalent)
- Have experience within the FMCG manufacturing industry. (preferred)
- Be able to work independently and proactively on preventive maintenance schedules, attend breakdowns or other assigned tasks.
- Have flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends
- Have working knowledge of mechanical equipment and skills to maintain, repair and install
- Be competent in diagnosing faults, production breakdowns, production start-ups and operating settings
- Be competent in servicing and maintaining industrial equipment
- Communicate with management in relation to equipment and maintenance issues
- Have the ability to read and understand engineering and pneumatic drawings

Due to large-scale continued growth at Sanitarium, we have some exciting opportunities for Casual Cleaning staff in our factory at Moorooka. We need people to work 4-8 hours every Friday between 6:30am-2:30pm, with potential for more casual shifts in the production team for the right candidate. This is a fantastic opportunity for people looking to work school hours, one day per week casually.
The Person
The successful candidates must be available to work every Friday. We are seeking applicants who are comfortable cleaning a factory and it’s equipment after production has finished. You will be working in a dusty wheat environment and can get messy. The successful candidate will need to be:
- Reliable with a high attention to detail.
- Fit and healthy.
- Able to achieve set tasks on time and to a high standard.
- Able to work as part of a team or autonomously.
- Able to follow instructions and procedures to ensure workplace safety.
- On the job training will be provided but manufacturing or cleaning/hygienist experience is advantageous.

The role
You will be running Workplace Health and Wellness programs with our client located in remote QLD and be part of a fast-growing Workplace Health company with presence across Australia and New Zealand.
Our Health and Lifestyle Coaches are passionate, motivated and strive to improve the health status of employees through education, training and coaching.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Delivering a wholistic health and wellness program on client sites focusing on key areas of wellbeing, including physical, mental, social and work wellbeing to create a balanced and productive workforce with optimal health outcomes
- Implementation of the health, fitness and wellness programs
- Facilitation of regular health and injury topics, including workshops, seminars and toolbox presentations
- Private and group health and wellbeing consultations
- Leading and supervising group exercise classes and individual consultations
- Leading and supervising pre-starts
- Health coaching, mentoring, motivating and inspiring people to set and achieve health goals
- Coordinate, promote and facilitate social events

Maintenance & Reliability Manager

We are looking for a full time Reliability (Maintenance) Manager to lead our Manufacturing Reliability team at our Moorooka site. The main purpose of the role is to manage the maintenance coordination and activities at site to meet expectations on lines servicing and managing the service protocols. Supervising daily work, work schedules and CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System). Provide regular communication and high-level customer support to the Leadership Production team, focusing on high level service while achieving plant reliability. Also provides technical support by training and troubleshooting to maintenance and manufacturing employees.
About the role
The successful candidate will have a strong track record in people management with good coordination skills and be able to hold service providers to account.
- Directly supervise and manage all employees in the Maintenance Team.
- Communicate directly with the production and operations departments to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
- Oversee asset care and be able to prioritise issues.
- Develop, promote and maintain constructive relationships with customers and stakeholders by delivering quality customer service.
- Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and coach employees to enhance competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians.
- Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
- Ensure department is efficient, cost effective, accurate and delivers reliability results.
- Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Monitor and oversee the operation of plant equipment and systems.
- Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimise unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Role model for safe work practices.
About you
- Relevant trade or engineering qualification
- Ideally minimum 5 years broad industry experience in food or beverages manufacturing or FMCG
- Leadership and coaching training and experience
- Solid experience delivering objectives through others within financial constraints.
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills in a multidisciplinary environment

Chief Financial Officer/General Secretary
The Northern Australian Conference Appointments Committee is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Chief Financial Officer/General Secretary (CFO/GS) for the Northern Australian Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This is a dual role, based in Townsville Queensland.
The Northern Australian Conference is renewing the Adventist movement in Northern Australia with a focus on creating a Christ-centered thriving disciple-making movement.
The CFO/GS works in partnership with the Conference President in meeting and delivering the strategic plan of the Conference. The CFO part of the role is responsible for financial oversight and management of financial resources and assets of the Conference, including management of finance, retail, property management, campground and delivery of capital works. The GS part of the role is responsible for governance and legislative compliance, including AdSafe, Human Resources (HR), Work Health and Safety (WHS), policies, minutes, and conference office manager. The role is supported by a competent office team.
The CFO/GS also serves as ex-officio on the Northern Australian Conference Executive Committee and as a Director for the two affiliated companies: Seventh-day Adventist Church (Northern Australian Conference) Ltd and Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Northern Australia) Ltd.
Expressions of interest are sought from individuals with undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in accounting and/or finance, with CPA/CAA designation considered favourably. Desired experience includes working with Boards of Directors, leading small teams, overseeing preparation of financial statements, project management and strategic thinking. Previous governance, HR, WHS experience would be an advantage.
