The Company

Sanitarium is a progressive and dynamic business that is Australian owned and produces Australia’s favourite breakfast cereal Weet-Bix and Australia’s leading liquid breakfast – Up & Go.

We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Payroll Officer to join our high performing Finance team.    

This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of our weekly payroll for all Sanitarium employees across Australia.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Processing the end-to-end weekly payroll cycles
Setting up new starters, maintaining accurate employee records and terminations
Processing and reviewing superannuation, annual leave, and other entitlements
Processing payroll tax
Processing superannuation
Reporting and month-end duties for payroll including reconciling payroll related general ledger accounts
Maintaining deductions and allowances including salary packaging
Responding to employee enquiries
Liaising with site payroll personnel
Providing back up to New Zealand and our Payroll Manager
The successful candidate will have:

3+ years’ payroll experience – ideally in Australia and New Zealand
Tertiary payroll/bookkeeping qualifications would be highly regarded
Attention to detail
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong Excel skills
Extensive knowledge of payroll related legislation
Exposure to interpreting and applying various EBA’s
Excellent time management skills – the ability to plan and prioritise
Strong communication skills – written and verbal
Ability to work independently
Strong customer service ethos
CHRIS21, Kronos and SAP experience are all highly regarded
Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality
