The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Limited is seeking an experienced and dedicated Security Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This full-time position will be based at the South Pacific Division head office in Wahroonga NSW and be part of Adventist Technology.

Adventist Technology is an internal managed service provider to many of the entities within the Adventist group across the South Pacific region. Adventist Technology hosts and supports services ranging from core business functions like accounting and payroll, through to church and ministry-based solutions.

Reporting to the Information Security and Governance Manager, the main focus of this position is to be responsible for the protection of data, day-to-day information security operations and requests, investigating routine security incidents, and implementing and monitoring compliance with information security policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, well organised, with excellent attention to detail and great communication skills.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Supportive of the values, beliefs and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Tertiary degree (BA/BS) in computers, computer security or engineering.
  • Proven ability to analyse, problem-solve, prioritise and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of network security principles, protocols, standards, data privacy practices, and network/PC operating systems including all Linux and Microsoft client and network operating systems, and various directory services.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with employees and outside personnel on a daily basis.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and exhibit courtesy, diplomacy and kindness at all times.
  • Well-developed English language skills including proficiency in verbal and written communication.

Preferred

  • Practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with eligibility to hold the appropriate church licence.
  • Certifications such as Cisco, CompTIA’s Advanced Security Practitioner, CISSP, GIAC Certified Penetration Tester, among others, are highly recommended and strongly encouraged if not already obtained.

Other

  • Some travel within Australia and other countries in the South Pacific as necessary.
  • Must show evidence of unrestricted work rights in Australia.
