Role Description

Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Greater Sydney) Limited is seeking a dedicated and passionate Operations Manager who will work with the Executive Director of Education at the Conference level to develop and implement key strategic priorities for Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Greater Sydney) Ltd. In addition, this role has a specific operational focus with responsibility for:

  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of Head Office operational services whilst developing and maintaining positive and healthy partnerships with staff and key stakeholders.
  • Providing support and advice to school leadership teams in the Master Planning process and taking oversight of any associated capital development programs under the direction of the CFO.
  • The Return to Work (RTW) program of the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Must be a practicing baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission. This would incorporate an active relationship with Jesus Christ characterised by a deep desire for worship and service to God.
  • Appropriate qualifications such as a Master of Educational Leadership, Master of Business Administration and/or experience in a similar role.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in educational leadership/management or a similar role in a related field.
  • A current Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Relevant training and experience to take responsibility for the RTW program or a willingness to undertake such training.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience of 5+ years in educational leadership/management.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Education system within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • A sound knowledge of the NSW Education System.
  • A sound knowledge of NSW workers compensation legislation and the legal obligations of NSW employers.
  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Teams and SharePoint collaboration tools.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Operational services such as ensuring the smooth and efficient running of Head Office operational services in consultation with the Executive Director of Education, taking responsibility for the coordination of meetings as needed.
  • Liaise with the Executive Director of Education and CFO to develop a Capital Development Strategy for the company and oversee local site capital management and Master Planning.
  • Act as the RTW Coordinator for Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Greater Sydney) Ltd, working with injured employees, their school leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure a supported and timely return to work program, taking responsibility for all associated documentation and reporting.
  • Assist schools to meet their obligations under Workers Compensation legislation.
  • Prepare and present statistical data relating to employee injury and related matters.
  • Undertake a review of the RTW program on at least a biennial basis, ensuring that employees are consulted through this process.
