Receptionist / Resource Centre Assistant

The South Australian Conference is looking for friendly, passionate and enthusiastic individuals who will serve as the first point of contact for our South Australian Conference Office.

Your job as a receptionist will to be answer calls and welcome any visitors to the Conference Office in Adelaide, and you will assist the Resource Centre Manager with the day-to-day sales and operations of the Resource Centre. While this role is mostly administrative task related, accounts experience will also assist in performing this role well.

The contract is to start 1st July 2024, for 7 months at 3 days a week, with the strong potential for extension, permanency and full-time opportunities.

Provide reception and customer service support including undertaking the following tasks:

  • Answer all incoming phone calls unless unable to due to being occupied on a phone call or with a visiting customer/stakeholder, or on a designated break
  • Greet visitors to reception, demonstrating friendly and engaging interpersonal skills and assisting with payments, enquiries, tithes and offerings, and requests to view resources

Resource Centre Assistant

  • Assist the Coordinator of the South Australian Conference’s Resource Centre service, including undertaking the following tasks:
  • Assist visitors to the resource centre by providing advice on bible study guides and other reference material, processing book orders including special orders, and providing updates on order status/arrival
  • Assist the Coordinator as they manage resource centre stock levels in line with supply and demand requirements
  • Assist church representatives with resource orders, including maintaining invoice records
  • Collect orders for, and distribute, Sabbath School materials for each church
    Assist in the coordination of resource material orders for schools
  • Contribute to the process of maintaining debtors records for resource sales  
    Assist the Coordinator in coordinating resource material for the annual Big
  • Camp convention, including liaising with suppliers, providing a sales stall and processing returns  
  • Assist with the administrative tasks associated with the raising of money for the ADRA Appeal once per year, including maintaining records of individual church fundraising activities
