An exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance is available at Pacific Adventist University (PAU) in their School of Business. Lecturers are responsible to the Dean of School of Business to provide innovative, motivating and challenging teaching based on sound scholarly activity which maximises learning and research and reflects a commitment to the philosophy, mission, objectives and values of the School and the University. Lecturers are members of the School Administration Committee and are expected to work closely with other staff in a collegial manner to promote the overall development of the School and the University.

  • To provide innovative, motivating and challenging teaching based on sound scholarly activity which maximises learning and research and reflects a commitment to the philosophy, mission, objectives and values of the University.
  • To provide service to the University and its community through professional, scholarly, and extracurricular activities based on the lecturer’s expertise and interests.
  • To work effectively with colleagues to support, produce and promote research.
  • To work effectively with colleagues in the creation of a harmonious and constructive work environment across and within the School.
  • Promote, by influence and example, the philosophy, mission, objectives and values of the University, and integrate these into the teaching process as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Jesus Christ and the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Requirements:

  • required to teach accounting and finance subjects both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels,
  • required to supervise honours and/or postgraduate research projects.
  • required to carry significant administrative responsibilities, including subject and course development and coordination.
  • expected to take a significant role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A doctoral qualification in accounting and finance; or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • A record of significant achievement relevant to the discipline area, and at a national level, in the scholarship of teaching and/or research/creative works or professional activity.
  • A record of autonomous teaching at a high standard is essential.
