Adventist Retirement Plus has a longstanding fifty-year history in providing retirement living accommodation and aged care services across several retirement communities in South Queensland. Previously known as Adventist Aged Care, we are a not-for-profit organisation that remains committed to excellence in care and services provision for the elderly. As a Christian organisation, we are an outreach of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Role
This position, reporting to the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer, is an exciting position involving a variety in day-to-day financial management, reporting and administration areas.
Duties will include:
– Month end Journals and Reporting and Reconciliations
– Assist with Preparing Board Reports
– Assist with Budget Preparation, and forecast
– Approving supplier payments
– Overseeing Accounts Receivable Function and payroll
– Reviewing and approving Bonds Refunds
– Assist with quarterly reporting
– Fixed Asset Register Maintenance and Review
– BAS lodgments
– Assist with the audit process
– Involvement with implementation of new programs and software
– Assist in building a strong financial process and structure
Skills and experience
– CPA/ CA Qualified or working towards
– Experience using Accounting Packages and Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel
– Exceptional attention to detail
– Highly adaptable with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– High levels of communication and relational skills
– Can-do attitude
We are looking for someone who is a qualified accountant, with a passion for process improvement, loves learning and genuinely enjoys working as part of a close-knit team to achieve a common goal. Previous experience in Aged Care is preferred, however not a requirement. While desirable, it is not essential that the applicant be a practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, however they will need to agree to the general professional expectations in support of the church as outlined in the position profile.
