Seventh-day Adventist Schools (NNSW) Limited is seeking an Inclusive Education Teacher to join Macquarie College’s MC Learn team in the Senior School. This full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month contract commences in 2027, supporting students’ learning, participation and independence.

Macquarie College (MC) is a Preschool to Year 12 independent school owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Located on the border of Wallsend and Elermore Vale in Newcastle, the College has a history of providing quality Christian education for over 120 years.

We are seeking an Inclusive Education Teacher to join our MC Learn team, supporting Senior School students in a full-time (1.0 FTE) capacity on a 12-month contract commencing in 2027.

Reporting to the Head of MC Learn, you will collaborate with subject teachers to implement Individual Plans and consistent classroom adjustments, coordinate Learning Assistants and work closely with students, families and relevant specialists.

You will monitor student progress, maintain Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) evidence, and support assessment and examination adjustments consistent with documented needs and applicable requirements. You will also contribute to student wellbeing, transition planning and professional learning for colleagues.

This role offers an opportunity to strengthen inclusive practice and help students develop independence and participate confidently in secondary education within a supportive Christian learning community.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Understanding of and commitment to the purpose and ethos of Adventist Education and the Church’s Statements of Belief.
• Effective classroom teaching, curriculum planning, assessment and reporting practices aligned with NESA requirements.
• Ability to develop Individual Plans, guide classroom adjustments and maintain NCCD evidence.

• Strong collaboration with teachers, families and specialists to support student progress.
• Skills in coordinating Learning Assistants and supporting inclusive teaching practice.
• Commitment to children’s rights to safety, respect, inclusion and empowerment.
