The Role

An exciting leadership opportunity has become available in our Beverages Department at the Sanitarium Berkeley Vale Manufacturing Facility. Reporting to the Beverages Production Manager, the Senior Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring continuous and effective operations within the department and importantly, on their designated shift. Overseeing a team of approximately 30 operators, your primary focus will be on improving team capability, maintaining a positive and supportive culture and assisting in implementing new strategies and efficiencies across the department.

Key responsibilities include:

·      Provide proactive and collaborative leadership to the night shift team

·      Maintain connections with team members through exceptional communication

·      Lead safety, with involvement in incident and hazard management

·      Provide ongoing feedback and performance management

·      Ensure line operation processes are followed to a high standard

·      Ensure compliance with Food Safety and quality standards

·      Analyse reporting, identify opportunities, and develop strategies to improve results

·      Fault finding and troubleshooting line operation issues and escalating when needed

·      Manage workflows and staffing needs

·      Identifying and developing future talent

·      Coordinate team member training and development

·      Support recruitment processes as required

·      Facilitate team meetings

The available position is acting on our night shift team, operating from Sunday night through to Thursday night each week (including 30% shift loading). Approximate hours are 11:00pm-7:00am, however this will be explained further at interview.

The successful applicant will hold the following skills and experience:

·      Experience leading large frontline teams (approx. 20+ team members)

·      Leadership experience in food and beverage manufacturing.

·      Strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety

·      Ability to drive a constructive culture

·      Commitment to coaching and developing team members

·      Ability to communicate with different levels of stakeholders

·      Commitment to team engagement and recognition

·      Leadership qualifications would be advantageous.
