Are you looking for an exciting challenge leading a team of professionals that share in the ministry of Camp Somerset? We are looking for a skilled Manager to join our South Queensland Conference team, leading the exciting and growing ministry opportunities existing at our Camp Somerset. Camp Somerset is located on the banks of Somerset Dam, approximately 1½ hours (100 kms) north-west of the Brisbane CBD in the picturesque Scenic Rim area of Queensland. The camp features new modern accommodation, catering and meeting areas as well as extensive activity areas located on the large property that adjoins the scenic dam area.

As manager, you would be responsible for leading the current team, committed to continuing to develop the ministry opportunities that have been established by previous management.
The position of Manager – Camp Somerset required someone with skills and experience in leading a client focused team and meeting the needs and challenges that arise in a large facility with multiple client groups, including school groups, local church and pathfinder groups, all regular users of these excellent facilities.
The applicant must be a practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and be committed to the ministry opportunities available through such a facility as Camp Somerset.

Application Requirements
Possess extensive knowledge, skills and current experience in the following:

• General management of a client focused facility that provides a range of accommodation and activity options.
• Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams). It would be desirable if the applicant also had exposure to accommodation booking software (Venue360 or similar) and understood the normal booking processes for a facility such as Camp Somerset.
•  It would be desirable for the applicant to understand Outdoor Education Activities and while specific
  qualifications in this area are not essential, a clear understanding of such would be a valuable asset to the successful applicant.
• The applicant must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbally and in written form, and be able to apply such skills in management and support of staff and clients alike.
• Strong and modern management and leadership skills should be present in the applicant to enable positive outcomes to be always achieved.
• The applicant should be well organized and be able to demonstrate strong time management skills and other administrative skills, essential for this senior management role.
