    Expressions of Interest are invited from committed and experienced educational ministry leaders who have a passion for Adventist education and a demonstrated capacity to lead a team of chaplains in the most rewarding of contexts – sharing Christ through the modelling of His character in a school setting with 1100+ students and 2000+ connected family members.

    Macquarie College (MC) is an aspirational, future-focused Adventist learning community, where the pursuit of excellence is nurtured in an inclusive, Christ-centred environment. With the longer term goal of chaplaincy at MC to be a global exemplar of Adventist mission and ministry in an educational context, this unique opportunity will require the successful candidate to contribute towards these goals

    The successful applicant will demonstrate:

    • An understanding and commitment to the purpose and ethos of Adventist Education and the Church as described by Adventist Schools Australia and our statements of belief Statements of Belief
    • Model and nurture an active relationship with Jesus and be a baptised, practising member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
    • Hold relevant degree level qualifications and experience.
    • Proactively support the growth of MC’s faith community through the day-to-day provision of a high-quality, inclusive, vibrant and creative, relational and distinctively Seventh-day Adventist school-wide chaplaincy program. Such a program will intentionally seek to engage MC’s unchurched community in relationships that lead to a long-term faith commitment to mainstream Adventist church communities.
    • Work in collaboration with fellow chaplains to ensure the day-to-day functionality of MC’s various ministry programs.
    • Support the ongoing development of best-practice ministry initiatives to both unchurched and churched MC community members.
    • Collaboratively contribute to MC’s chaplaincy programs through the application of interpersonal skills, based upon intellectually and emotionally intelligent behaviours, to enable effective ministry practices within a diverse P-12 school community, including non-Adventist/non-Christian students and their families.
    • Collaboratively contribute to the alignment of MC’s ministry programs to MC’s learning programs to ensure continuity, relevance and sustainability of both programs, for all stakeholders.
    • Work collaboratively with NNSW School Company staff, NNSW Church Company staff and local Adventist church pastors to ensure the effective delivery of the NNSW School Company’s strategic vision for ministry in SDA schools throughout the North NSW Conference.
    • Work in partnership with MC’s Student Wellbeing faculty in circumstances where MC’s Chaplaincy and Student Wellbeing programs overlap to ensure the effective delivery of frontline support services to MC’s at-risk community members.
    • Committed to child safety by providing a safe culture, safe operations and a safe environment. Only applicants with a Working With Children Check (WWCC) will be considered for this role
    • Legally able to work in Australia

    • CV and a supporting statement addressing your capacity to undertake the essential tasks of the role listed above.
    • A current passport photo.
       

    Upon receipt of an Expression of Interest, an applicant may be invited to submit a further statement addressing the following criteria prior to an interview being scheduled:

     

    • A plan outlining how you would contribute to the effective delivery of the MC Strategic Intent chaplaincy goals. (The MC Strategic Intent chaplaincy goals will be made available to applicants who progress beyond the Expression of Interest phase of the application process).

     

    Salary Range     

    Salary will be in accordance to the applicable Enterprise Agreement or Division Wage Schedule.
