Tagged position. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proven Seventh-day Adventist leader to lead our school. Longburn Adventist College is our flagship school within the Adventist school system.

We provide high-quality Adventist Christian education in a caring and supportive learning community. The board is supportive, stable, long-serving and highly competent, and we have a settled and high-performing staff. 

We are looking for a person with the skills to enhance student achievement further and ensure staff are well-equipped to prepare our students for the 21st Century empowered in Christ.

·       Be people-focused and able to foster strong connections between the College day and boarding school 

·       Be a gifted communicator who is visible, approachable and transparent 

·       Have the ability to keep student achievement and well-being at the forefront of decision-making 

·       Demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence and resilience 

·       Be a collaborative and nurturing leader having mana, a sense of presence and a personality 

·       Be highly motivated with high energy and love for young people

·       Have sound knowledge of curriculum and effective pedagogy, including assessment for learning capabilities

·       Your CV will demonstrate experience in these areas. We expect this will be a highly sought-after role.

The appointee shall accept and recognise the responsibility to maintain and preserve the school’s special character. Furthermore, having a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special Seventh-day Adventist character of the school is a condition of appointment. Most importantly, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate commitment to the school’s mission and values.

The position commences on Term 3, 2023.
