Northpine Christian College is an independent, co-educational day school for Prep to Year 12 students located on 4 scenic hectares in Dakabin in the Moreton Bay region.

Northpine is seeking a motivated and experienced full time Groundsperson to join our team, for an immediate start. The successful applicant must be hardworking, self-driven, take pride in delivering outstanding work and be able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks. Only applicants with demonstrated current practical experience, a sound knowledge of general maintenance and a genuine passion for gardening and horticulture will be considered.

  • Maintain College facilities and grounds, ensuring they are safe and visually appealing
  • Action and complete assigned jobs, both through the online software and as directed by management, in a timely manner taking into consideration all safety issues and legislation
  • Complete maintenance and repair duties including carpentry, welding, and painting
  • Assist with completing a range of manual tasks across the campus, as part of the ongoing preventative maintenance program
  • Perform daily routine grounds and garden maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, watering, fertilizing, digging, weed removal, bed development, planting, irrigation, mulching, pruning, rubbish removal and emptying campus bins
  • Clean external seats, tables and handrails regularly
  • Wash College vehicles and buses and clean internally
  • Operate College vehicles including buses, forklift, tractor, mowers, buggies and mules
  • Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with all safety instructions and issues
  • Assist with the set up and pack down for sporting events and other functions, and parking
  • Assist with preparing grounds and buildings for marketing events, tours and functions
  • Assist with the safe management of blood and body fluid spills
  • As requested, move goods, furniture and equipment around the College
  • As directed by management, assist with maintenance and landscaping projects and the construction of related structures
  • Complete annual compliance and child safety training
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices

The Successful Applicant must:

  • Have a strong commitment to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and be prepared to support the ideals and beliefs of the church
  • Hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Blue Card for Child Related Employment with Queensland Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian
  • Hold relevant qualifications
