7 at Avondale is seeking applications for a full-time Front of House Manager to join the team.

About the position

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Front of House Manager to oversee the front of house  team, delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, welcoming environment. You will be the face of our front of house, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, motivating staff, and creating a top-tier guest experience. If you thrive on customer interaction, have a keen eye for detail, and love crafting a warm and efficient dining atmosphere, we’d love to hear from you!

 

What will you do?

Examples of what you will be doing include:

  • Oversee all aspect of daily front of house and café operations, including opening and closing procedures, and inventory management.
  • Coordinate front of house and café staff to ensure cleaning schedules are completed daily and weekly.
  • Delegating tasks to staff and ensuring daily completion of the café to-do list.
  • Confident operation of tills and back-office servers.
  • Liaise with the Venue Manager regarding operations and venue bookings.
  • Roster café and front of house staff.
  • Handle day-to-day adjustments for unavailability of staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with university students and staff in a way that fosters a positive Avondale experience.
  • Quality control through maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness throughout the café and buffet.

 

Essential criteria

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Understand and support equal opportunity principles.
  • Support the mission, values, and ethos of Avondale
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Trained and Qualified Barista, willing and capable of working in all Front of House roles and positions
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of food safety protocols and procedures
  • Have completed the NSW Food Safety Supervisors certificate
