Flight Maintenance Manager
The focus of the Seventh day Adventist Church’s Adventist Aviation Service is the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the spiritual nurture of its constituents, meeting the physical needs of the community and the professional management of the church, its organisation and facilities.
The role of the flights maintenance manager is to manage the daily operations of the Part 145 maintenance organization.
Essential criteria:
- Must be a practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission and lifestyle. This would incorporate an active relationship with Jesus Christ characterised by a deep desire for worship and service to others.
- Have an interest in and aptitude for cross-cultural ministry.
- Hold current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer certification, including the following minimum requirements:
a Current Australian aircraft maintenance engineer licence.
b Experience on Group 1 and PT6 engines.
c Experience on Group 1 and 2 airframe.
d Experience on Cessna 206 and Pac 750XL aircraft preferable.
e 4-8 years of experience.
f Foreman or Chief Engineer experience is preferable.
Key Responsibilities
Your Role:
- Ensure that all maintenance, including defect rectification or work on aircraft component carried out, whether at the base, on the line, or at a location away from the base is accomplished according to the standards CASA regulations and AAS exposition.
- Ensure that all required data is available and accessible to all staff needing it to carry out their tasks.
- Ensure that all data is at the latest revision level.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are sufficient for the maintenance functions.
- Control of aircraft parts purchase.
- Ensure that the standards and procedures for Stores control are complied with (refer to section 13).
- Ensure that special test equipment is calibrated at applicable intervals (refer to section 10).
- Ensure that all required maintenance records are executed and maintained in accordance with the procedures of this exposition (refer to section 7).
- Ensure that any corrective action relating to the provision of maintenance resulting from internal quality assurance activity is speedily and fully carried out.
- Inform Quality Manager of the discovery of any defects which may require reporting under relevant CASA Regs.
- Recommend sufficient numbers of suitably qualified engineering staff to the Chief Executive for employment.
- Establish and maintain the continuing education program for maintenance staff.
- Manage the authorizations process, specifically:
- Ensuring that personnel meet the initial and on-going training and qualification criteria defined in section 12 – Authorizations.
- Ensuring that personnel are assessed as meeting the prerequisite requirements for authorization, including technical competence, and recommending personnel to the Quality Manager for issue of specific authorizations.
- Ensuring that staff are authorized appropriately for performing certifications on behalf of the organization.
- Ensuring that any corrective action relating to personnel authorization resulting from internal quality assurance activity is speedily and fully carried out.
- Initiate revisions to this exposition as may be necessary.
