We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and efficient Departmental Assistant to provide administrative support to the Directors of Family and Children’s Ministry, Health Ministry, and the Ministerial Association. This role involves overseeing a variety of administrative tasks, scheduling, and correspondence, ensuring that all departments operate smoothly. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with a team.

We are open to applicants who want to work 2-4 days per week as this position could be filled by two candidates.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in an administrative or assistant role, preferably within a church or community organisation.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams) and familiarity with database management.
  • A heart for ministry and a passion for the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

 

Terms & Conditions:

  • Performance review after 6 months, annual appraisals.
  • Salary in line with the Modern Awards.

The Greater Sydney Conference (GSC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is the administrative and spiritual hub for church activities in the Greater Sydney region. We focus on supporting a Christ-centred community and growing both spiritually and professionally.

We are seeking a highly organised Executive Assistant to support our officers and ensure the smooth running of the office. This is a great opportunity to help advance the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

  • Provide administrative support to the Directors of Family and Children’s Ministry, Health Ministry, and Ministerial Association Secretary.
  • Manage and coordinate schedules, appointments, and meetings for the Directors and Ministry team.
  • Prepare and proofread documents, reports, and correspondence as needed.
  • Assist in organising events, training sessions, and meetings related to Health, Family, Children’s Ministries, and the Ministerial Association.
  • Maintain and manage department filing systems, both digital and physical.
  • Assist with ministry-related communications, including email and phone correspondence.
  • Support the creation and distribution of newsletters, promotional materials, and ministry reports.
  • Coordinate with other church departments and external partners to facilitate collaborative efforts.
  • Assist in managing departmental budgets and financial records.
  • Provide support for special projects and initiatives as requested by the Directors.
