Role Description

Mountain View Adventist College is a Pre-School to Year 12 College owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The College aims to provide a quality Christian education to students from all religious and cultural backgrounds.

The work of the Bus Drivers is essential to the operation of the College. The appointee will work closely with the Bus Supervisor, Bus Coordinator and Business Manager in taking responsibility for safely transporting students to and from the College, sporting events, excursions and other functions as required. Compliance with relevant WH&S, Road Rules and other applicable regulations and standards is assumed.

Application Requirements

As a part-time employee, you will be required to work 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon to complete the school run along with other hours for sports, excursions etc.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Ensuring the safety of students and other passengers as they board, travel on and leave the bus.
  2. Ensuring strict adherence to road rules, particularly in reference to speeding and phone use.
  3. Driving in a courteous, responsible manner.
  4. Conduct themselves with the utmost propriety and professionalism at all times, bearing in mind the standards of the College with regards to smoking, drinking alcohol, dress and language.
  5. Complete required safety checks.
  6. Complete maintenance tasks as required.
  7. Endeavouring to maintain professional and congenial relationships with students, parents and staff.
  8. Other tasks as requested by the Principal or Business Manager or their delegates to support the smooth operation of the College.

You will:

  • Be eligible to work unrestricted in Australia.
  • Support and uphold the values of a Christian organisation.
  • Hold a current LR drivers’ licence to drive a manual vehicle. MR licence would be advantageous.
  • A good driving record.
  • Have previous experience in a similar role.
  • Be enthusiastic about the work that you do.
  • Have high standards of work.
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Have a commitment to the College Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Be able to work unsupervised, use your initiative and be proactive in all that you do.
  • Have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) valid for employment.
  • Have or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
  • Have a willingness to help people and go the extra mile.
