Business Manager – Gold Coast Christian College
– South Queensland Conference
An opportunity exists for the successful candidate to join our South Queensland Conference Education team as Business Manager for our Gold Coast Christian College. The Gold Coast Christian College is a K-12 school, and the Business Manager is part of the senior management of the school, working closely with the school Principal and others to deliver quality Adventist education to a wide cross section of the community on the Gold Coast.

The position will provide challenges and blessings working together with a professional team to achieve
excellence in education with an Adventist influence on the lives of students and parents. The position of Business Manager is fully responsible for the “day to day” operations of the school, leading a team of site-based finance support staff and working in collaboration with the school Principal as well as the Conference finance team, to develop and strengthen the education and ministry opportunities available through the growing school.

The position is responsible for all elements of school-based financial management including the establishment and monitoring of the operating and capital resources of the school.The applicant ideally should be a practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, but if not, they should be a committed
Christian and be willing to agree and support the ideals and objectives of the church as evidenced through the operations of Gold Coast Christian College, as a school operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Application Requirements

The successful applicant should be able to meet / demonstrate the following:

  • Possess a tertiary Business/Accounting Degree and be a member of or eligible to be a member of a recognized accounting professional organization in Australia (CA / CPA).
  • Be able to demonstrate strong experience and skills in financial management and general administration of a complex business segment, preferably within an educational framework.
  • Possess strong and competent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams) as well as a school and system-based accounting ledger system.
  • The applicant must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbally and in written form, and be able to apply such skills in the management and support of the Principal as well as all staff, parents and students alike.
  • Strong and modern management and leadership skills should be present in the applicant to enable positive outcomes to be always achieved.
  • The applicant should be well organized and be able to demonstrate strong time management skills and other administrative skills, essential for this senior management role.
