Avondale University is seeking a Assistant Academic Registrar to join the Student Administration Services team on a part-time basis at 19 hours per week.

The Assistant Academic Registrar will provide support to the Director of Student Administration Services in areas related to compliance and quality. The role will also work in collaboration with the Manager of Academic Quality and Standards to assist in monitoring student data and compliance with relevant Higher Education frameworks.

 

What will you do?

Some of the main duties will include:

  • In collaboration with the Director Student Administration Services:
    • Assist in monitoring student academic progression
    • Assist in the preparation of various reports to governance committees
    • Assist in the oversight of the Exam Centre
  • In collaboration with the Manager Academic Quality and Standards:
    • Monitor, analyse and report on data related to student progression, retention and attrition;
    • Monitor and action compliance in relation to CRICOS, PRISMS and the Tuition Protection Scheme;
    • Assist with the administration of QILT surveys;
    • Assist in monitoring AQF level compliance, in relation to course documents and accreditation documentation.
  • Act as Avondale’s contact person with Centrelink to provide updated information about courses offered;
  • Monitor the accuracy of academic and course information on the website;
  • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of Avondale’s policies and procedures in order to provide support to the Policy Steering Committee;
  • Seek opportunities for personal and professional development, particularly related to the team and position’s specific areas of responsibility;
  • Respond to requests by management and fellow staff in a knowledgeable, professional, constructive and respectful manner;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Student Administration Services. 

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to work alongside and support the activities of the Director of Student Administration Services / Academic Registrar. This will include having:

 

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a related area such as Education, Quality assurance or Policy development;
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks in the Higher Education and VET sectors (for example: AQF, HESF, ESOS);
  • A demonstrated ability to develop, implement and update policies and procedures;
  • An ability to analyse data and to prepare draft reports as required;
  • The ability to work with a team of people with strategic vision, tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong commitment to Avondale’s purpose, strategy and ethos.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in an Australian Higher Education context.
  • A degree or higher education qualification in a related field.

Salary: Avondale Higher Education Worker Level 7 $41.55 – $46.86 per hour, plus superannuation.
