Avondale University is seeking an experienced Business Analyst on a full-time, 12-month contract.

This exciting opportunity will have you supporting the migration process to a new student management system from our current student management system. You will utilize your expertise in current processes, data migration, strategies, and system integration within the educational sector to undertake this project.
What will you do?
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to gather and document business requirements related to the migration from Tribal Callista SMS to the new student management system.
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing Tribal Callista SMS functionalities, data structures, and integration points to facilitate a smooth transition to the new system.
- Instrumental in mapping data from Tribal Callista SMS to the new system, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization during the migration process, ensuring alignment with best practices and educational standards.
- Assist in configuring the new student management system based on business requirements and participate in testing phases to validate system functionality and data migration outcomes.
- Create detailed documentation, including business requirements, data migration plans, functional specifications, and test cases to support the migration project.
- Provide training sessions and ongoing support to end-users and stakeholders on the new student management system, promoting effective adoption and utilization.
- Collaborate with the assigned Project Management Office, IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of migration milestones and adherence to project timelines.

Selection Criteria
Essential Criteria
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong understanding of student management processes and data migration strategies within educational institutions.
- Experience in being part of leadership or supporting large-scale system migration projects, preferably involving student management systems.
- Proficiency in data mapping, transformation, and migration techniques, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools.

Desirable Criteria
- Certification in Business Analysis or related fields.
- Experience with other student management systems or ERP systems in educational settings. Existing Tribal Callista knowledge will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations relevant to student data management.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations (eg, TCSI, ASQA, TEQSA, Avetmiss)

Salary: Avondale Higher Education Worker Level 7 $90,134 – $101,662 plus superannuation. (current wages rates at September 2024)
