About the Position
Join the creative hub of the Australian Union Conference! The Resource Centre is responsible for creating and distributing books and resources that help our community grow and learn. We’re looking for a Resource Centre Assistant (0.66FTE) to support our team and help us deliver outstanding customer service.
As a Resource Centre Assistant, you’ll be responsible for supporting all areas of our operation, with a primary focus on receiving, processing & distributing resources and liaising with stakeholders to ensure exceptional customer service delivery. You’ll also assist with enquiries and clerical work to help keep our Resource Centre running smoothly.
About you (Selection Criteria)
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a practicing, baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who has an active relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep desire for worship and service to God.
In addition to your commitment to our mission, you should possess the following:
- The ability to acquire and maintain eligibility for a valid Working with Children Check (Employee) or equivalent and meet Adsafe compliance.
- Familiarity with the governance structures of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Australia.
- A qualification and/or relevant experience in book-keeping, dispatch and receiving procedures, including freight and customs practices.
- Proficiency in the use of technology and software, such as word processing and Excel; including a working knowledge of other software products such as Retail Express or similar retail management products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to liaise with the public, as well as church employees and members.
- Ability to manually move and pack heavy boxes and resources for stock refill or distribution using a hand pallet jack, within safe limits.
- Value confidentiality and work with integrity, communicating in a pleasant and professional manner that is representative of the organisation.
- Demonstrate high attention to detail to ensure goods receivable/deliverable are accurately recorded.
- The ability to multitask and work under high pressure to achieve deadlines.
