As the Education Assistant Accountant, you will promote the growth and spiritual development of the Finance Ministry for Education. You will assist the Education Finance Team in managing day-to-day financial operations.
Terms and Conditions:
· The role is subject to ongoing satisfactory performance.
· A performance review will take place after the first 6 months, with formal appraisals annually.
· Remuneration will be in accordance with the Division Wage Schedule.
· Relocation allowances are available when required.

As an Education Assistant Accountant, you will: · Assist in preparing month-end journals and reconcile accounts. · Assist in managing bank accounts and cash flows. · Ensure accurate data processing and maintain ledger integrity. · Assist in Education audits and ensure compliance. · Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and annual financial statements. · Generate ad-hoc financial analyses for different departments. · Collaborate with School Business Managers or Bursars and advise them on financial processes. · Assist with payroll-related duties and administrative support. To thrive in this role, you should: · Possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. · Preferred experience with accounting software such as ERP and Synergetics. · Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and information-sharing. · Be detail-oriented with a knack for accuracy. · Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. · Show initiative in identifying and addressing workflow challenges. · Be proactive, resourceful, with a can-do attitude. Qualifications: · A degree in business or accounting, or equivalent tertiary qualification and/or experience. · Must be a practising, baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission and values. · Commenced or willing to work towards CPA/CA qualification.
