Seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain on a part-time basis to provide spiritual guidance and support within our community. As a Chaplain, you will offer comfort, counsel, and religious services to individuals of diverse faith backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging and inner peace.

Your role will be instrumental in nurturing the spiritual wellbeing of our residents, their families and staff, promoting a culture of empathy, understanding, and inclusivity. Adventist Senior Living is a ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (North NSW Conference) seeking to enhance the physical, spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing of older Australians through Christ centred care. The organisation has three service offerings: residential aged care, home care and independent living. 

The North Coast business unit includes an aged care facility at Alstonville together with independent living communities at Alstonville and Tweed Heads. The organisation also has a growing home care service within the Alstonville and Tweed Heads regions.  


Demonstrated Skills & Experience:

  • Some theological training is desirable as is experience in aged care chaplaincy
  • Ideally you will have completed a unit or more of Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • Active listening, empathy, compassion, fostering individual connections on a deep emotional & spiritual level.
  • Effective communication skills to effectively convey messages of hope, comfort, and encouragement.
  • Cultural competence and respect for diverse religious beliefs and practices, ensuring inclusivity in their support services.
  • Exhibit strong crisis intervention skills, offering solace and guidance during challenging times.
  • Creating safe and supportive environments where individuals can explore and express their spiritual needs and beliefs.

Chaplaincy Team

Together, we collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary Clinical, Allied Health and Home Care teams to deliver quality care that prioritises residents’ quality of life, ensuring each individual finds meaning and purpose in their daily experiences.
