Fulltime, Fixed-Term Contract. An exciting opportunity has just become available for a contract role focused on developing a research-based, Resilience Building NZ Health Curriculum for Years 7 and 8. The successful candidate will collaborate with the New Zealand Pacific Union’s Adventist Health Ministry, the Adventist Education Office, and the Program Researcher to develop teaching units focused on helping students learn critical skills that will allow them to build and manage resilience across their lifespan.   This role is funded by and will report to the Adventist Health Ministry. 

As our unit writer, you will need to have the ability to build relationships with Adventist schools and understand them as the customer, which is critical to successfully meeting the needs of their student’s learning. 

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in adolescent mental health and well-being and bring creativity to an innovative teaching environment. Training or experience in mental health and teaching in Adventist Schools is a bonus. Expected Timeframe

Contract Commencement:  5 June 2023 
Peer Review of Teaching Units and Resources completed by Mid-Term 3 (with Teachers, school counsellors, and MoE’s Health support unit). Pilot Trials in Schools by the end of Term 3. Consultation with Pathfinders and Chaplains during this timeframe. Feedback-based curriculum edits by Term 4 for implementation in Schools in Term 1, 2024
