Cook / Kitchen Hand

Adventist Aged Care, Wahroonga is currently seeking a Cook/Kitchen Hand to provide a consistently high service to our residents. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has a passion for cooking, good communication skills and is able to work in a team. As a cook, you will be responsible for the preparation of meals for all residents- ensuring that meals are prepared following the menu, special diets and individual preferences. As a kitchen hand, your responsibility will be to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of crockery, cutlery & trays given to residents for their meals.  Light meal preparations will be also required.

This will be a part-time position.

Essential criteria:

• Full knowledge and understanding of the Food Safety standard and its requirements
• Certificate III in Commercial cookery or equivalent.
• Current police check

Desirable:

Aged care experience is an advantage.  Also, experience in cooking vegetarian meals.
