About the Ministry & Strategy Team
The Ministry and Strategy Team (MST) exists to provide visionary and strategic leadership to the broader church as part of the South Pacific Division as well as collaborate and support the ministry work of the Church leadership in strategic initiatives. Areas of focus include discipleship, health, ministry innovations and marketing, mission to the cities, stewardship as well as public affairs and religious liberty. The team also liaise on behalf of the General Conference in traditional church ministries of sabbath school, personal, family, youth and children.
About the Role
As the Administrative Assistant, you will be supporting the Director and Associate Director of MST with their leadership, administrative and various ministry roles within the South Pacific Division. You will also collaboratively work with the other MST administrative support to efficiently process enquiries, documentation, schedule appointments, and provide assistance with meetings, events, and projects. This role reports to both the Director and Associate Director of MST and assists the MST team with office administrative support as needed. You will be the first point of contact for MST enquiries and will need to work collaboratively with the broader MST staff to meet the needs of the team and external ministry contacts. Your proven office admin experience, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and passion for church ministries will be crucial in supporting the work of MST.
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Must be a practising, baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment and belief in the teachings, values, and mission of the Church.
- Appropriate secretarial/office administrative support qualifications or similar.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in office administrative support or similar.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise with excellent time management skills.
- Well-developed people skills with the ability to connect and relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated.
- High level of computer literacy and competency with Microsoft windows environment.
Preferred
- Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion.
- Ability to prepare presentation and reports.
- Working knowledge of the Seventh-day Adventist Church organisation and its operations throughout the South Pacific Division.

- Must hold current unrestricted work rights in Australia.
