The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Clerk to join our dedicated Division Financial Services (DFS) team. Based at our head office in the upper north shore of Sydney, this part-time role will ideally suit a self-starter looking for work-life balance with 24 hours a week work.

As the Accounts Clerk you will support the Investment and Financial Services Manager and the Accountant in carrying out responsibilities associated with the Church’s Cash Management Facility and Loan Funds as well as other routine clerical and administrative work.

A typical day in this role will involve interacting with key stakeholders relating to deposits, processing banking transactions, responding to enquiries, and collaborating with the immediate team and wider SPD office.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must be a practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission, values, and beliefs.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
  • Appropriate business/accounting certificate qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a clerical role within an accounting, finance or banking environment.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Eligible to hold the appropriate license with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • A working knowledge of the Church and its management throughout the SPD.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of denominational accounting practice and financial management and investment would be advantageous.
  • Must show evidence of current Australian work rights.
