Clinical Manager – Deputy Director of Nursing (8 Month Maternity Leave Cover)

Avondale Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Manager to join our team for a 8 -month fixed-term contract. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the General Manager in administering nursing services at both Avondale House and Alton Lodge, Cooranbong, ensuring the highest standard of care for our residents.

Adventist Senior Living (ASL), is a ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (Northern NSW conference), is dedicated to enhancing the physical, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being of older Australians through Christ-centered care. Avondale Care, part of ASL, provides both low and high residential care at Avondale House and Alton Lodge, alongside a growing Home Care service that supports residents within ASL villages and the broader community.

The Clinical Care team at Avondale Care is responsible for sourcing, screening, admitting, and caring for residents within the residential facilities, as well as overseeing accreditation and funding coordination.

As a key member of the Clinical and Leadership team, this role works closely with the General Manager, Care Coordinators, Department Coordinators, and the Client Services Officer to optimise occupancy, AN-ACC funding, and deliver safe, quality clinical care.

Who You Are:

  • AHPRA-registered Registered Nurse with proven leadership experience in clinical or aged care environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective family and team engagement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and oversee clinical care operations efficiently.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of care and compliance with aged care regulations.
  • A solution-focused leader with a track record of managing teams and addressing clinical and staffing issues.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality care and improving residents' wellbeing.

 

Essentials for this role:

  1. AHPRA-registered Registered Nurse, with minimal post graduate experience of 2 years
  2. Strong clinical expertise in aged care, with a solid understanding of nursing processes and assessments.
  3. Proven experience and commitment to maintaining high standards of care and compliance with aged care regulations, including the AN - ACC
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective family and team engagement.
  5. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with databases for finance, maintenance, clinical care and governance.
  6. Demonstrated skills and experience in leadership, supervision, working with people, planning, organising, and decision-making.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to a positive organisational culture, aligning with ASL’s signature behaviours of Achievement, Performance, Connection and Wellbeing.
  8. Valid driver’s license
  9. Current NDIS Check or willingness to obtain
  10. Current vaccinations as required for the role or willingness to obtain.
