Chief Executive Officer

About the role
ADRA New Zealand is seeking applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the role of Chief Executive Officer.
As the Chief Executive Officer, you will play a pivotal role in our organisation, with responsibilities that include:
The CEO leads a team of dedicated professionals and works with a variety of stakeholders including Board members, other NGOs and Government authorities, Church leadership, regulatory bodies, and the ADRA global network, to ensure that ADRA is a professionally acclaimed faith based organisation delivering positive impact towards both the ADRA global purpose and vision of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in New Zealand.
Supported by a dynamic staff and volunteer team, the CEO works to unite the different talents of our stakeholders to pursue our strategy and work hard to achieve it. The successful applicant will be a management professional who loves to make a difference and who will meet the challenges of this diverse role with energy and enthusiasm.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is the official humanitarian agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. As part of the global ADRA network which reaches into over 100 countries, we are motivated by our faith, to enable people and communities in New Zealand, the South Pacific, Asia and other parts of the world to improve their health and livelihoods and assist people to prepare for and recover from disasters around the world.
ADRA New Zealand is fully accredited with the New Zealand Foreign Affairs and Trade and Council for International Development.

Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Commitment to the purpose of ADRA, and to the achievement of our overall strategy and priorities with demonstration of our ADRA values and desired team culture lived out in all aspects of work practice.
2. Dedication to leading within a Christian ethos with conduct that is respectful and congruent of the beliefs and practices of the Seventh-day Adventist Church when in the workplace or otherwise representing ADRA New Zealand.
3. Appropriate qualifications in humanities and social science.
4. At least five years’ experience in a similar role with proven transformational leadership skills and demonstrated ability leading results in realisation of vision and strategic priorities.
5. Commitment to and ability to work cross-culturally, and across differing professional groups, with respectful and appreciative understanding and communication.
6. A desire to personally and corporately promote ADRA’s ministry to the Seventh‐day Adventist Church constituency and leadership.
7. The ability to travel nationally and internationally.
8. Demonstrated experience in humanitarian and non-profit operations.
9. Knowledge and understanding of the Seventh-day Adventist Church structure, purpose and ways of working to invest in the overarching mission.
