Early Childhood Project Officer – South Queensland Conference
Location: Administration and Resource Centre, 400 Boundary Street, Spring Hill 4000 Queensland
Remuneration: Per the Division Wages Schedule (Australia)
Seventh-day Adventist Church (South Queensland Conference) Ltd is seeking a project officer to support the Education Director in overseeing the effective operation, development, and continuous improvement of the Church's education ministry within the South Queensland Conference, with a particular focus on Early Childhood Education across Early Learning Centres and school-based kindergarten programs.
Appointed by the Board of Seventh-day Adventist Church (South Queensland Conference) Limited. This is a full-time permanent position, subject to the terms and conditions of employment of the South Queensland Conference. The position is ongoing and subject to regular performance and development reviews. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance, alignment with the mission and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and compliance with all relevant employment, professional, and child safety requirements.
Core Competencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of Early Childhood Education, including relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, approved learning frameworks, and best practice within Queensland.
- Demonstrated ability to support and advance the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of Adventist Education in South Queensland, while effectively coordinating and supporting Early Learning Centre and school-based kindergarten initiatives as delegated by the Education Director.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites and educational settings.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with:
- Principals, Centre Managers, Teachers and Early Childhood Educators employed by the South Queensland Conference.
- Children and families within the Adventist community.
- Government education and Early Childhood agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to provide advice, support, and professional learning to educators and leaders within Early Childhood settings.
- Proficiency in the use of digital technologies, data management systems, and relevant software applications to support educational improvement and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Must be a baptised, practising member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission and values, demonstrated through an active relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to serve God through ministry and education.
- Demonstrated understanding of the philosophy, mission, and operations of the Seventh-day Adventist education system.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, early childhood education, leadership, or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of information technology and relevant software applications.
