About the Role

This is a casual position, and ideally, we require candidates to be available Monday to Friday for morning and afternoon shifts, with a commitment to working at least two-night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

As a Care Staff Member, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) in accordance with individual care plans
  • Supporting residents with compassion, dignity, and respect
  • Promoting residents’ independence and encouraging them to participate in their daily activities wherever possible
  • Observing, reporting, and documenting changes in residents’ health or wellbeing to the Registered Nurse or Supervisor
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised environment for residents and staff
  • Working collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
  • Building positive relationships with residents and contributing to their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing
  • Participating in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided.

Essential Criteria

What you will bring

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, or an equivalent qualification in Individual Support or Nursing Care
  • Previous experience in a similar aged care or healthcare setting
  • A caring, patient, and compassionate attitude, with the ability to support older adults with dignity and respect
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build trusting and respectful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
  • An understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards, residents’ rights, infection control, and workplace health and safety practices
  • The physical capability to safely assist residents with transfers and activities of daily living
  • A positive and adaptable attitude
  • Respect for the Christian values and mission of Adventist Aged Care
  • Note: We are unable to sponsor visas for this role; applicants must already have Australian permanent residency or citizenship

As part of the important team you will: Work with other professionals to provide high quality, safe and effective personal care that aligns with individual resident choices and best practice. Assist our customers to enjoy a quality lifestyle that includes assistance with Activities of Daily Living and meaningful activities. Complete documentation based on the organisation's requirements. Provide excellent customer service to our customers and their families.
